I am dealing with a problem on my 87 Dodge W250 with the 360 and 727 transmission. It all started with the Harmonic Balancer going bad. No big deal right? Wrong. I ordered a new balancer, installed it and expected the engine vibration to be gone. The new one helped but the engine still has a nasty vibration to it. After doing extensive research into it I am more confused than ever about proper harmonic balancer and flex plate mach up issues. The only thing I did was replace the worn out balancer and it was worn out. Now I need to figure out the proper balancer as I think I have the wrong one on it.
So here is what I know. I have factory welded on weights on the stock flex plate. The old balancer was thicker than the new one. After researching it I cannot determine what balancer to order to many choices for me. In hind sight I would have sent my original balancer and had it rebuilt I still would do that but somehow I managed to throw it away. Can anybody help me out on this xxxfrg thing?
