Ill fitting door

On a '49FFPW I've been struggling w an ill-fitting driver's door. Opening looked like a parallelogram. In the archives from 8 years ago Kevin in Ohio recommended a porta-power at a 45 deg angle. Well dang! 3 min with the jack and the gap was a lot better! A little more and it will be great! Now will it stay that way or do I need to weld in some support to hold it?
