I was able to drill and tap the seal with 1/4 tap, and used some long bolt combined with a t bar type puller to get the old seals out. Just like Vaughns pictures in his link. I didn't have to take the input shaft out of the housing to do it. Used a section of pipe to reinstall the new one. Sealant around the outside of the new seal helps it slide. Lubricate the inside with some grease for the shaft.
It works, just take your time.
