We had a tornado here in North Idaho about 40 years ago. My partner and I were building a house with a detached 2 car garage. We saw the sky get really dark and the poplar trees on the lake edge about 1/2 mile away suddenly leaned over almost to the ground. We got off the roof and went inside the house, which was all covered in plywood. The garage, with no plywood was destroyed. Lots of big trees uprooted all over. One guy had a boat in his driveway in town. The wind literally picked up the boat and moved it across the intersection and set it down on another guy's yard.
Remembering that makes me appreciate what you live with in your area.
