I blew one out first time I hit a freeway on ramp.

50% flat sounds good, I just whack em with my 2 hammer.

Dimples actually pull the edges inwards,making them looser.

Anyway, I put a gauge into the block and revved it up, 10 [email protected] 2800rpm. It's why you need a thermo in there, to act as a restrictor, and make the pressure. 10 psi raises the boiling point by 30 degrees F. preventing steam pockets. Drag racers use what looks like a big washer instead of a thermostat, actually thread the block holes, and screw in pipe plugs. The go 60-70 lbs.

Thermos and restrictors only pressurize the block, not the radiator. But a pressurized radiator does the same thing, raises the boiling point. 3 degress/lb, 7# cap plus the pump, makes the block pressure 17#, 50 extra degrees before boiling.
