I was planning on using LizardSkin or one of the other versions for the cab and underside of the fenders and running boards and inside the box. Then I saw where it was latex based and needed a topcoating. One of the hotrod forums had years worth of posts on making your own from micro-balloons and any kind of paint. So I bought a gal. of microspheres and put them in inexpensive enamel. Sprayed it on w an undercoating gun. Very thick and hopefully it will protect from the gravel roads around here. Just did it yesterday. I should have used an epoxy or urethane for greater resistance but the enamel is inexpensive. Beats $80per gal or so for the other brands. Looks just like undercoating. I also sprayed some thinned down out of a HF 2.0 mm primer gun. Came out much finer like on the order of Line-X. The micro-balloons/micro-spheres are about $20gal.
