What Carbs do people like?

I've about had it with the WA-1 carb on this machine. I'm having all sorts of trouble getting it to run well. My main issue is that I'm having no end of trouble finding any information on it. And I'm having no luck finding anyone that knows anything about them.

So, I'm thinking maybe I should swap over to something that's more popular and easy to get info on. So, what do people like using on these 230 Dodge motors? The ball & ball from the 1/2 tons? Something else? Let me know.
