new directional switch issues

i bought one of this new switches from ebay. on the directions it says blue and black to flasher then a power wire to flasher. i bought a new flasher and had several i had.. the lights come on when i move the lever but won't flash i do not have the front hooked up yet but they are all separate and i also tried a ground to the direction switch clamp..
