Not sure about your neighborhood but in the Midwest I have seen many more Ford setups than Chevy in bread trucks and of course the Dodge setup you get from a truck. If you find a Ford adapter the zf5 is a good transmission. I am running a 4 speed but have debated swapping a few times. The ideal Ford setups is to get a small block zf and a diesel zf and put the diesel internals in the small block case.
I also think the early Getrag 5 speed would hold up fine behind a 4bt. They get a bad rap behind the 6bt towing but with the 4 and the relatively light use I think they would be fine.
