So my drum bracket was also quite bent. I'm a lucky guy, because I have a 40T press and Mike from Baltimore had some very bent parts to play with. Here's what I learned.
1) The metal they used is SOFT. I've never seen a casting that bent or moved so easily. The press "gauge" didn't even register when we re-bent it.
2) We got them very hot, and they still cracked.... Maybe not hot enough?
3) They do seem to TIG weld quite nicely if you pre-heat them. So we straightened it out and TIG welded the crack.

I've never seen the VPW ones, but I'm betting it is a superior casting and is not as soft. Maybe they will send me one and I can do a side by side destructive test......
