The other thing too was that the 383 was an engine option on the W200 trucks. I had a plain Jane '71 W200 with 383 and 727 automatic. Mine was painted red.

I never understood why Dodge only offered that 383 in the W200, W100 and not the W300 or W400 or W500 even. They came with a big ass two barrel carburetor and those engines were tuned for torque, not horsepower.
