Since the Peel N Seal is sold at Lowes in 6 or 8 inch strips, its easy to follow all the contours in the floor, tranny cover, firewall, cab ceiling and sides. As I mentioned, I go two layers. As you can see in the picture, I dont cover the seam of the tranny cover or anything you might want to remove. I run the Peel N Seal right up to the edge. I do let it cover the bolts in the covers. As mentioned above, I also do the inside of the cab roof and sides and inside the doors.
Peel and Seal really sticks hard. When you lay it down, dont dont let it touch any area until you are all set, then start at one end and lay it down, smoothing out and wrinkle or air pocket. When its down, believe me, ITS DOWN. You can pull it off, but its very dificult. To remove a panel, its quite easy to just remove a small piece on top of each bolt.
I then use indoor/outdoor carpet glue to glue down one layer of the reflectix insulation on top of the Peel N Seal. The finished job is as quiet if not more so than OEM factory on a new truck. I did this on all my Old Iron Dodge Diesels, Jeep CJ-7 Diesel and My Corvettes. It works !, its dirt cheap ! and easy to work with.
From memory...duh....I think I used 7 or 8 25 foot rolls of the Peel N Seal on the Power Giant W300 on the picture. The Reflectix comes in 2 foot wide rolls at any lumber yard. Its dirt cheap also.
At Lowes, you will find Peel N Seal in the roof coverings/repairs area. Its main purpose is to seal rain gutters on the roof and the like. Its also available in large sizes for total roof jobs. But large sizes are too difficult to work with in the cab of our old iron.
Hope this helps
