What to o with old parts?

So I've noticed people in this hobby tend to start accumulating piles of old machinery and parts. I've always been a firm believer in "When in doubt, throw it out!"

My once empty side yard is beginning to fill with rusty, hard to find truck parts. This is.. hmmm.. disquieting to me. I need to find a way to limit this accumulation of rusted worn out broken stuff.

Take for example the 3rd member I just pulled out of the carryall. I had it hot tanked so I could get an idea of its condition. Turns out the chinks I found were from the pinion gear. Everything looks pretty worn out in there. Does something like this have any value at all to anyone? Or do I just haul it off to the dump?
