W300 Power giant 6 lug dana 70 question

I have two rear axles with 6 lugs. The spring perches are the same dimensions along with the backing plate widths. The hubs and brake drums are different. One has the wheel mounting surface at the end of the axle shaft and the other has a hub protruding about 4 inches from the wheel surface. Would the latter one be for a dual wheel application? And are they interchangeable on the axle housing? One of the housings has a suregrip in it that I would like to use. Thanks
