The question was asked about hydraulic ram assist steering and crossover. I have done both "upgrades" to my M37 and the ram assist is works great. You really don't notice the ram assist other than that on trails it always will steer. I can't say it feels easier it just steers when without it would just stop turning.
Crossover steering I am not so sure is an upgrade. For some reason the front back type steering gained a poor reputation that i think it got from 70s and 80s chevy and dodge's. I believe that with a big lift these systems gained a lot of bump steer. That said with newer style polyurathane bushed springs that are nearly flat I find the crossover pushes the axle from side to side a lot. This gives the steering a vague feel and on trails sometimes looks a little alarming. I figured the ram assist would help because it is mounted to the axle but i still notice this. With stock bronze bushed springs this might be less noticeable. I am planning to add a track bar to help this but I know many Jeep enthusiasts (YJ era) remove the track bar to improve off road flex.
On a less modified truck I wouldn't see the value of the cross over steering but I think hydraulic assist is a very worthwhile upgrade especially with a front locker.
