Your working with a 75 year old truck. There are going to be a lot of worn pieces that are causing a lot of quirky noises and vibrations. As you fix one, that fix may affect or change the performance of other worn parts. Ya just got to kee going through it one item at a time.
When I got my carryall and got it running I could not go 25 MPH. The truck was shaking so bad I could not control it. I took it completely apart and started rebuilding every thing. The front suspension and steering linkage was totally shot to start off with. Now with the same V8, axles, transmission, steering box and drive lines that were in the truck when I got it it will do 70+ down the freeway tracking as good as any modern truck and rides smoother than my F350 dually. Everything was rebuilt except for the steering box.
