I'm finding that using the "old guys" is no secret to success. What I am finding is that its not age or experience, its interest. Is the vendor / service provider actually interested in what's going on? Most of the really good help I've received has been from people younger than myself, that are actually interested and care. The guy at Seattle radiator that I talked to looked 10 years younger than me. Same with the local parts guy here in town. He's been bending backwards to make my bizarre automotive ideas reality.

I think VPN & Midwest do so well because they are honestly interested in what we're doing and care about getting it right.

I know its a popular theory to go to the "old guys". But for me? Its just not playing out that way.
