Butterfly strips are all I would have used. A bit of crazy glue will work in a pinch. Those head wounds sure can bleed.
I can relate - I do not turn the light on at night because it wakes my wife. Broken a few toes kicking things that do not move. Last time I broke one I did not bother going to the doctor - same with ribs
Emergency? been in enough times that I know to take a book, a bottle of water and a pillow.
