The WD-9 is a diesel, but it starts using regular gasoline by pulling a compression release lever that also kicks in a regular carburetor. When you get the beast warmed up on the gasoline, you throw the lever to the diesel position. It then blows the prettiest string of smoke rings you ever saw, big as bushel baskets and perfectly round. I also ran a TD-9 crawler in the Bridger Mountains out of Bozeman, Montana pulling a ditcher. The scariest plowing I have ever done in my life.
