Engine Help Needed

My M37 just started to have problems; it will only run at half speed, even with the accelerator floored. It starts perfectly but seems to only develop half the speed and power it did yesterday. What should I look at first? Carb? Fuel? Please give me any experience you may have had on this. It has the original 230, of course.
