charging a24volt system ; whats the correct way?

i was driving the m37 sunday it was very foggyso i had my headlights on. when i got home i forgot to turn them off. its the 24volt system with 2 12volt batteries connected . what is the correct wayto charge these 2 batteries??? do u need to disconnect them and charge them one at a time or can u leave them connected and andhook your charger to one of the batteries and set your charger to 24volt? thanks
