Unless you have a ton of money and good fabricaton skills, I think the V10 would be a major task to install. You would have to investigate whether you could connect it to your existing trans or if ou would have to replace with new. Also, will it even fit between the radiator and the firewall? As you know, there is no room to move the radiator forward so that would leave the firewall to be moved. These are just a very few basic thing I could think of on the spot but I'm sure there are ALOT of things that would pose serious problems.
Why not use a late model magnum 360? It would pretty much bolt right in and it would also be fuel injected.
Why won't Colorado let you install a diesel? I understand the 440 since it was never available in such a late truck, but there are usually limited restrictions on diesels, especially on one that is newer than the vehicle you're putting it in.
