My friend Jared is building a new shop and had a few trees in the way that he needed to get rid of. The Antique Tractor Club in our area has a Frick mill powered by a 605 cubic inch Minneapolis Moline six cylinder engine. The blade cuts poplar like butter. Too bad it's 5/16" thick... Lots of sawdust for a small pile of wood. Here's a couple of videos of today's fun. I'm not a fan of poplar, but they use it as siding on barns around here and it lasts forever.
