What got me thinking about all this was finding them on the straps that hold the brake lines to the rear end casing. I doubt they're grounding the brake line? Or maybe this is just a previous owner thing.

And as for the grounding straps.. Good lord! There're EVERYWHERE! The hood is "grounded" to the firewall. The brake & clutch petal thing is grounded to, I don't know what, but its grounded to something.
