Thanks, Daryl. Yeah, my concern is that the rough crankshaft surface will cause the seal to wear out in short order. If it's just minor weeping, then it might not be too big a deal, but of course, I'm still going to push to get everything in tip-top shape.

As a last resort, I may go with the bolt-on type. What do you recommend to ensure they are correctly fitted?
