I don't want to get in a back and forth here about the value a local agent but I will say this... my clients "monkey" with me because I am a collector car enthusiast who just happens to be an agent.
I've been an agent longer than most of the people that I deal with at Hagerty ( and others) have been alive. That experience allows me to direct my clients to the company(ies) that work best for their specific needs.
As I mentioned in the previous post about insurance, I use a variety of companies for my own personal classics because each company has an entirely different appetite guide. There is no boilerplate program/company that fits all of our respective needs.
Greg, I sympathize with your situation and I'm sure you will find a market for your truck in the state you live in. I say bravo that your agent asked lots of questions.. whether out of inexperience or curiosity. The last thing you need is for Hagerty (or any ins company) to walk away from you at the time you need them most....the time of loss. As frustrating as it may be, it's better to know your truck might not fit their programs now.
