Looks like full-floating axles on this one.
I doubt the engine is an SBC, people see the numbers and just expect a Chevy engine.
Agree about the rust buckets - every one I found in my area has been rusted badly.
My dad said the same thing about wimpy running gear in the FCs. Funny thing is he always bragged about how tough his '65 ihc travelall was ... just had 1/2 ton 44s. :)
