How do I secure push/pull knobs?

I'm in the process of trying to fit the light and panel knobs from the kit DCM and others sell(https://dcmclassics.com/lighting/141-i-188-dash-knob-kit.html), but the hole diameter, in the knobs, are larger than the aftermarket switches I got from NAPA. Not sure of the sizes yet, but was wondering if anyone has the same combo and how they made it work? I'm thinking some sort of threaded insert epoxied in place? Any help is appreciated.
