1971 D100....engine choices

Hi guys. Looking to buy a very clean 71 half ton sweppy. Owner claims its a 318...so does the tag...but its got distributor up front. So i dont know what im looking at. I gotta 1970 d200 with a 383 factory but its got different exhaust. What could be going on here...a swapped engine? Exhaust on left (passenger) goes down pretty much straight in middle of manifold. Ill try to get some pics today. Thanks. Did they still use poly 318s in 1971?
