on the VC sides, the D rings are at ab angle where they go around the fender.
It is not hard to convert civilian VC fenders to military ones. did it, I opened up the opening to match the VC opening, but added a 1/2 inch, I tacked a pieces if 1/2 inch round stock around the inside and curved the edge over.
