Yes I use dedicated size piston sleeves all the time. Extremely easy to install a piston vs. standard adjustable ones. With a little oil on the rings they compress relativly easy without out digging into to the taper. The nice thing is when supporting the sleeve in your hand and pressing the piston in with your thumbs it allows you to feel the ring tension / friction before installation in the bore. By purchasing the 88.0 compressor you can easily chuck it in a lathe and remove .0015" so it matches your bore. The taper typically doesn't go entirely through the tool. It usually tapers in the first 2/3 & then flatens out at the bore size for the last 1/3. Is it worth it for only 1 engine build if you already have a standard ring compressor? Probably not. But $30.00 really isn't all that bad for piece of mind either.
