Thank you for examining and explaining how the short front top rail section was integral to the right side of Michael's express bed. Your photos make clear that the short 3/8-1/2 inch continuation of the bed side above the stake pocket did not contain enough material to keep that short top rail section firmly attached to the bed during actual use. I can now clearly see why it was quickly discontinued.
