Don't stress too much over the history of it all. Number 12, number 181, number 3...they were just old work trucks. Number 3 is no more valuable than 5 or than 387...they're just cool old trucks & although it's good that you want it back as it originally came from Chrysler...the most important thing is to take it out, drive it & enjoy it.
The Chrysler museum isn't going to contact you with their displeasure if you paint it blue, nor are they going to reward you if you paint it green. Just enjoy it.
That's the main thing...enjoy it.
There are certain vehicles where numbers are everything. The Mustangs...The Corvette guys.
The cool thing about our old trucks is that theyre not even worth more money if they has an original T137 engine. Sure...there's folks that live for numbers but they aren't the ones paying big bucks for them...in fact quite the opposite.
Just drive it & enjoy it man.
