I believe that that accounts of patton riding around in a kitted out command car are exaggerated. He likely had a parade truck, etc. but tooling around battlefields with the big red flags on the front seems nonsensical. like a yenko camaro clone, i believe this command car to be a representation of what the truck looked like.
