My Version of a Horn Contactor

Here's what I ended up making for the horn contactor. The white nylon ring slides over the upper universal yoke and overhangs the steering column by about half an inch. The copper slip ring (a section of 1-1/2" copper coupling) fits onto the nylon ring and is electrically isolated from ground.

The black wiper arm is mounted to the column on a nylon base with nylon screws. The green wire runs back to the ground side of the horn relay. The wire from the horn button will run down the steering shaft, out the gap in the u-joint, and solder onto the slip ring at the red dot.

I tested it out today and it works well.
