Last forum, I posted regarding the seemingly endless struggle to get my truck finished by the shop installing a 12-valve Cummins in my '94 Chevy 3500HD 4x4. After 11 months, it's still not done. BUT -
After being contacted by my attorney, and after a visit by me (no shots fired), the shop owner has made major progress and the truck should be done within a week.
It was explained to him that every day he delayed in completing the truck would cost him $100 off the total bill.
The total WAS around $17,500, including parts and labor. $6,200 has already been paid, leaving the amount due at $11,300. As of today, the total has decreased to $9,000, give or take a few hundred. The guy has agreed to this (perhaps because he doesn't have a choice - I could simply seize the truck without paying him anything, under AZ law.)
So, in effect, the meter is running backward. He may end up owing ME for fixing my truck.
Again, the guy isn't a jerk, but he is apparently clueless as to how to run a business. I don't want his money, and I don't want to sue him. I just want my truck back, in running condition...
