The amp gauge will give full deflection at 60 amps. A 9vt battery does not have enough amps, to work the gauge but a very small amount. You'll need apx 20 amps to move 1/3 scale, 30 amps for 1/2 movement, and 40 amps for 2/3 movement, and 60 amps for full movement.
