I just had my 230 flat-head engine (T-245) rebuilt. When I started it, the oil pressure pegged the gauge.
The pressure relief valve is correctly installed. The oil filter is the type with a cartridge that slides over a center tube, and I found the hole in the center tube to be plugged. I cleaned it out with a heavy wire.
I'm surprised this hole is only about 1/16" diameter. Seems small for passing 30 weight oil. Is this normal?
