The PCV valve is one end, the filler/ vent/ to air filter/ road draft/ is the other.
But I bet on bad rings and/or broken ring lands on the pistons.
You can break ring lands if a little old lady previous owner never revved it,and the cylinders wore a ridge. Then a new owner with a lead foot revs it, and the pistons with worn bearing fly up and hit the ridge.
