EZ-off and hardware store paint stripper both generally contain methylene chloride possibly mixed with lye and alcohol. I would be wary of using methylene chloride on tires or any other hydrocarbon. It dissolves pretty much any plastic or rubber. It's also carcinogenic and hard on the hands. Acetone or laquer thinner would be my choice.
