The 203/205 is a drum i've been beating for a while. But pretty much any year W300 comes with a Dana 60 or 70 front and likewise rear, so CUCV/M1009 axles really aren't needed. Older W300s come stock with 4.88s which is perfect for 44s with a NP435 (2300 rpm @ 60). If you want closer gearing than a wide ratio 435 for road driving get an Eaton 5 spd or a 5th direct NP540. With the 205/205 you'll be at 130:1 low-low 1st.
