Hello All,
Well, after deciding I had nothing to lose, I took the advice of Ray, Kaegi and Daryl in Oz. I screwed the NFG valve adjuster up a couple of threads from the point at which the valve clearance is set. Then the fun began. I used a sharp Snap-On punch along with my trusty Caterpillar BP hammer and gave the adjusting threads(along with my thumb) a few good whacks. My twin brother, a Jeep guy then went to adjust the threads down to set the proper valve clearance and yelled out "We now have resistance when turning this GD adjuster". That was yesterday. I have driven the truck slow, fast, uphill and downhill. The problem valve is now as quiet as a sleeping baby along with the other ones. I am cautiously optimistic that the problem is fixed. thanks all for your advice on trying the "Easy Fix".
