My book shos two, either side of the clutch dog. But does not give a quantity. Wayne's drum and kink are not in proper geometry- the handle will swing the brake shoe inboard of the brake surface on the drum. He needs another thrust ring to bring it all into alignment. Plus his dogs do not bite deep enough. And/Or his U bracket is too short.
I used a Chinese repro, but it came without the U bracket, so I made one to fit. Anybody got any loose parts to measure for length? Hard to measure with the drum in the way.
And while we are near the subject, I did drill and tap my gear case for 5/16" bolts for the U bracket. Thn used higher grade socket head screws. So many of our trucks are missing the beacket and handle etc, with broken screws left in the housing. Broeken screws tell me maybe the cable was once astray, and tore it all off? Not just screws loosening and parts falling off on the trail.
