I believe the 9&5/8 third members are as strong as, if not stronger than a Dana 60 to quite possibly as strong as a Dana 70. See no reason why it couldn't handle the torque of an early Hemi such as a 331. The Dana 60's in Dodge trucks could handle 440's and they have Boatloadsof torque. My guess is the short side axle shafts would most likely break before the third member would. I'm a WC guy so what I have said I heard from folks that are supposed to be in the know as far as Power Wagons are concerned. Also, love those non mopar headlight buckets on it.
