251 head thickness

I have read some archived posts on head thickness. The question I have ,like others is what is the original factory thickness? I have a 251 head that measures 1.880 thick. If 1.930 is an accurate dimension for a uncut this head has been cut .050. What increase on compression would .050 have? I dont know any history on the head i have . I wonder if it was ever cut. It checks flat, no need to cut it except i would like to raise the compression on this engine to about 8:1 . Any one ever measure an N.O.S.251 head ?
