Depends how good your blaster guy is. If he cleans only the surface of any iron on the rim, like I've seen others do, nothing works good.
I prefer Rust-oleum Rusty Metal Primer #7769, thinned 20%, and shot with a gun. It has fish oils to remove any moisture off the metal and dries with a thick hard coat. After painting I like to coat the inside of the rim except for the tire bead areas with flex seal as an additional water proofing measure.
