Hey All,
Yeah I have A LOT of homework to do.
I assume that red power wagon is yours. It is beautiful! Maybe lifted a bit more than I am thinkin and I don't do much mud boggin. I do want to keep as much function as I can - particularly trailer pullin capability. I do plan to use the truck as a truck. I will be studyin your build a lot. Really really nice truck!
The kind of advice/information you are givin is exactly the kind I am lookin for. Is 5k at all reasonable for a decent donor? Since I live in Canada one that says Fargo on the front would be fine if I can't find one in the western US. It would be really helpful to have some idea of what the export numbers were - but I doubt that info is available.
I do confess I have considered a jeep pickup for the same change and I know it has been done and I am certain I could find a donor truck but I would really rather get a Dodge for very sentimental reasons - from the 40s before I was born into the 80s and even now to some extent a side of my family that was really influential on me had nothing but dodge - trucks and cars. Lots of stories there.
Oh an if my favorite muscle car - 69 superbee - could come with a power wagon - well it would be like winning a lottery.
I have both a dodge PU and a jeep - now both owned by the same corporation. Globalization has put my two favorites under the same "roof" - Fiat - for better or for worse.
