Interesting and thanks for the info. You still Have the truck? From what I've seen, a lot of times they had small dimples to show where the holes should be on some things.
The 3rd series 1941 1/2 tons dash are what blows me away.(Like my red one). Since the government said they wanted standardized gauges (5 round gauges instead of the side rectangulars) on the last series, Dodge changes out the die set for the dash to make less than 400 closed cabs that way. I never understood why they went back to old style instead of keeping the round. They only thing I could come up with is they either had a backlog of them, wanted to have a captured market for replacements as of it's odd size or didn't want to pay a vendor or retool.
As I've said before with Dodge, never say never with them as they sometimes used what was there or didn't follow their own rules. Even with the Military trucks.
