I checked my early Power-Wagon specific parts lists to find information on the factory screws and nuts that were used to attach the “23-04-103 COVER, Front Floor Transmission, Assembly, 950 939”, to the cab.
The proper hardware is listed as follows in “1946 DODGE POWER WAGON (PRELIMINARY) PARTS LIST MODEL WDX ISSUED DECEMBER 1945”, #D-11091:

“23-04-113 SCREW, Front Floor and Toe Board, (hex-hd., S., pkd., 5/16-10 x 5/8 in.) 950 969”. The list shows a quantity of 8 of these required, and indicates that the part number was not previously listed for Dodge Trucks.

“23-04-114 NUT, Front Floor Transmission Cover Screw, (S., cd-pltd., 5/6 in.-10) 950 970”. The list shows a quantity of 8 of these also required, and also indicates that the part number was not previously listed for Dodge Trucks.

The next list to supersede #D-11091 is – “DODGE POWER WAGON PARTS LIST MODEL SERIES WDX, REVISED FEBRUARY, 1948”, #D-12004. It lists the hardware as follows:

“23-04-113 SCREW, Front Floor and Transmission Cover, (hex-hd., S., pkd., 5/16-10 x 5/8 in.) 1197 042”. The list shows a quantity of 8 of these required, and indicates that the part number was not previously listed for Dodge Trucks.

“23-04-114 NUT, Front Floor Transmission Cover Screw, (S., cd-pltd., 5/6 in.-10) 950 970”. The list shows a quantity of 8 of these also required.

Note how the screw description changed between December of 1945 and February of 1948. The latter corrected an apparent mistake made in 1945 and became more intuitive by changing the description from “Front Floor and Toe Board” to “Front Floor and Transmission Cover.” Unfortunately, this 1948 list did not contain a superseded part numbers listing in the back of the book, which would have possibly help explain why a particular part number changed.

The parts list “TRUCK PARTS LIST MODEL CODES, DODGE WDX, FARGO FL2-26”, et al, #WM-4200, copyrighted in 1947 and issued By Chrysler Corporation of Canada Limited lists:

“Front Floor Plate, Screw – floor and toe board, 950969, and “Front Floor Plate, Nut – lock, 950970.

The information contained within agrees with the Preliminary Parts List #D-11091, only not in such a detailed fashion.

A quick check of the “STANDARD PARTS LIST” #D-11171, issued in May of 1946 for all Chrysler Corporation cars and trucks, shows that it contains no listings for any 5/16-10 screws of any length. This suggests that the screws in question, as listed in the Power-Wagon specific parts lists, were unique to those trucks at least during that time period.

I took one of my screws to the machine shop today where I work. The inspection department confirmed that the screws and nuts listed above are indeed 5/16-10 ACME thread. I am the Director of Quality Control, so I have confidence in the guys.

The attached image is for reference. From left to right:

M8x1.25 x 20mm HHCS
5/16-24 UNF x .625 HHCS
5/16-18 UNC x .625 HHCS
5/16-10 ACME x .625 HHCS
5/16 x 1.000 LAG SCREW
#12 x 1.250 SLOTTED FLAT HEAD WOOD SCREW
#12 x .750 FLANGED HEX HEAD SHEET METAL SCREW

This does not explain why only the transmission hump was attached with ACME screws while the left and right floor pans were attached with 5/16-24 UNF screws.
