This was when I got to drive my first M37 and a Duse and a Haft. First ride in a 2 1/2 ton was about 40 miles and it was loaded with artillery rounds and I was headed to Firebase Blackhawk to re/supply them and get dropped off. I just flew into Vietnam a few weeks before and had got used to the heat from winter in the States. What a wild time for a 18 year old to get to do this.
